Secret Teachers Interview

Here’s a link to an interview I did recently with Chris Flisher at his Turning the Wheel website. We discuss some of the basic ideas of my new book, The Secret Teachers of the Western World, how the history of western consciousness has been informed by an often fierce rivalry between the two sides of the brain and what this has meant for the western esoteric tradition. Chris brings in the cosmic aspect, but I try to keep the conversation focussed on what is going on inside our heads and what this might mean for our future.

And if anyone feels inspired to disagree with the first review of the book on amazon, I won’t stop you. Evidently the reader was expecting something different.

And not to forget: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year

  1. Just reported that review. That is a direct attack on the author (“This guy…”) which is in violation of Amazon’s review policy. Note: It’s not even a verified purchase.

    1. Many thanks Julie. I can understand if the reader was looking for a different kind of book but all the promotion makes clear the kind of book it is. I appreciate your coming to the defence. Merry Christmas indeed!

  2. The book is fabulous so far. I am having a thought…perhaps around the Bronze Age we realized that the earth was in for some big changes that we could not adapt. So we needed the left brain to advance technical material to survive and move on….or maybe I’ve seen interstellar too many times.

That aside this book is a page turner. Not sure what that review was about, but I’m sure they have a “ranke-ian” view on history.

Bravo and can’t wait to read more.

  3. The book is fabulous thus far-so thank you for your hard work. I have a thought though…that around the Bronze Age perhaps we realized the earth was going to go through changes that we could not adapt. Thus needing the left side of the brain to further improve technology to move on or leave….or maybe I’ve been watching too much interstellar.

Either way the book is thought provoking and a page turner. I’m sure that reviewer has a “ranke” style of history.

Bravo and can’t wait to read more.
